Repair or Replace? Here's How We Think About It

    Repair Makes Sense When…

    • One or two planks are cracked, chipped, or deeply scratched
    • A seam is lifting or a plank edge is peeling up
    • Minor water damage confined to a small section
    • Rest of the floor is in good shape and matches current stock

    Replacement Makes Sense When…

    • Widespread buckling, warping, or gapping across the floor
    • Persistent odor or mold under the planks
    • Product is discontinued — matching replacement unavailable
    • Subfloor damage that requires full access to repair correctly
    • The floor is simply dated and you're ready for a new look

Not sure which applies to your floor? We'll give you a straight answer at the free estimate — no upselling a full replacement when a repair is the right call.

    Demo & removal

We remove carpet, tile, laminate, vinyl sheet, or old LVP. All debris is bagged and hauled off the same day. No dumpster rentals, no leftover mess.

    2

    Subfloor assessment

Every inch of subfloor gets inspected for soft spots, rot, moisture damage, and levelness before any new product goes down.

    3

High spots ground flat. Low spots filled with self-leveling compound. Damaged sections repaired or sistered. Moisture barriers installed where needed.

    Why Subfloor Prep Is Non-Negotiable

The most common reason LVP fails prematurely — planks buckling, seams lifting, hollow spots underfoot — is a subfloor that wasn't properly prepped. Many installers skip the prep to save time and charge less upfront. We don't.

LVP installation specs require no more than 3/16" variance over 10 feet. We hold to that standard on every job. If your subfloor needs work before we lay a single plank, we tell you upfront — not after you've already paid for materials.

LVP Repair — What We Fix

Click-lock LVP can often be repaired without touching the surrounding floor. We source matching or close-match replacement planks, carefully unlock the affected area, replace the damaged planks, and re-lock the section cleanly.

Cracked or chipped planks from impact
Plank edges lifting or peeling up
    Loose or hollow-sounding sections
Seam separation from improper original installation
    Water damage to isolated sections
Bubbling or blistering from heat exposure
